At Peninsula Bike Fit our ethos is that the rider always comes first, we fit bikes to people!

Commonly, bike fitting results are achieved by adhering to a ‘rule of thumb’ like ‘Knee Over Pedal Spindle’, using the same leg extension figures or motion capture algorithm. Often these are completed on your existing bike on a stationary trainer. All of these impose limits to a successful fit.

All of our sessions are carried out on our GURU DFU. This state of the art piece of equipment measures speed, cadence, power and left/right balance as well as being almost infinitely adjustable dynamically (while the rider is pedalling).

Duration:
We allocated 2 hours for a Bike Fit session. We sometimes achieve the desired result in less time than this, occasionally we may run over when multiple changes need to be made to more complex bikes.

What to bring:
+ Your existing bicycle (if the fit is for a new bike not yet purchased we still recommend bringing your existing bike)
+ Cycling kit (this must include lycra shorts and a close fitting base layer or summer road jersey). For road bike fits, bring your regular riding shorts. For Triathlon fits, bring your tri suit (as this usually includes a smaller pad and can influence the fit)
+ Existing shoes (if you do not have shoes please wait until after your fit to purchase them as we will assess your feet and recommend the best pair based on this assessment)
+ Spare cycling kit if you plan to cycle here (shorts, socks, jersey)

+ Complete the Pre-Fit Questionnaire

Thinking of purchasing items before the fit:
We would recommend holding off on any purchase until after your fitting, this way we can advise you on what to buy on the day.

* I’m traveling and cannot bring my bike:
This is not a problem. Please let us know and we can send you details on what basic measurements to take from the bike.
